The following key features will be part of Gnewtella v2

Decentralized network	Following the tradition of the old Gnutella versions, Gnewtella will use the same type of decentralized network. This ensures the reliability of the network against all types of attacks from the outside (Denial of service, legal attack, nuclear weapons etc.)
Strong encryption	Military grade encryption helps both privacy (by making it impossible to wiretap Gnutellanet messages at the ISP & by encrypting configuration files on the users hard disk) and security (by using digital signatures to uniquely identify another user)
Peer review functions	Each client controls the other clients which share a connection to it. If a connected client is found to send out abusive and/or malicious data, it can be ignored or disconnected from the network.
Advanced download scheduling	New ways of queuing and organizing downloads make it possible to transmit large files (e.g. 700 MB) over a relatively unreliable network (like Gnutellanet)
